In an effort to avoid toxic paints, I use Kelly-Moore's Eco-Spec™ product line — a non-volatile organic compound (VOC) paint that, unlike conventional paints, does not release toxic chemicals into the indoor air. It works as well as conventional paint for about the same price with no "new house smell" when it is applied.
